Keney Park: 684 Acres to Explore in Hartford
June 21, 2016 | trioonline
Keney Park doesn't technically belong all to Hartford. Of its 694 acres, only 584 of them are located within Hartford's boundaries—the other 110 overflow into neighboring Windsor. But that doesn't keep Hartford locals from flocking to the park in droves. After all, it's the biggest park in the entire city, so you can almost feel like you've actually escaped the bustling metropolis.
There's plenty to do within park limits, too. Play a round of golf on the in-park course or check out the tennis courts or cricket fields. Bring your little ones to splash around at the spray pools or go for a dip in one of two large public pools. You can also take a jog along the fitness trail and do some strength exercises along your running route, let kids run around at the Playscape, or play a round of tennis with friends at one of eight tennis courts. The park also boasts a nature trail and a pond house.
